Beauty & the Bullet

The Boulder Rifle Club supported the founding of Beauty & the Bullet to help women build their pistol shooting skills on the range. The goal was to encourage women to develop their confidence and knowledge in a low-pressure, all-female-run practice.

Since its inception, Beauty & the Bullet has grown to over 200 collective members. Our mission is to instruct, educate, and encourage women to improve their proficiency with a pistol while staying safe and having fun.

Registration

No pre-registration is necessary; however, we would appreciate it if you'd join our mailing list so we can structure practice accordingly. Reminders are sent out a week before practice. To receive our practice reminders, click here.

Practice Fee

Our practices cost $10 for nonmembers and $5 for BRC Members. We accept cash, and exact change is appreciated.

When does Beauty & the Bullet practice?

Our all-female practice takes place on the 2nd Wednesday of the month at the Boulder Rifle Club, with setup starting at 5:45 pm and shooting starting at 6:00 pm. We generally shoot for about an hour and a half; however, you do not need to stay for the whole practice.

What guns can I shoot at Beauty & the Bullet?

Match fee is $20 for the first gun, $10 for the second. BRC Members receive a $5 discount on their first gun.

Our practice is focused more on familiarizing yourself with a pistol, either rimfire or centerfire. However, if you have a rimfire rifle you’d like to use, feel free to bring it.

We do not center our practice around larger rifles.

What do I need?

Be sure to bring your eye and ear protection and your pistol, ammunition, and magazines. Regardless of the weather, wear close-toed shoes and fitted clothing. If we’re outside, bring sunscreen, a hat, and water.
